One great use for the web is as a showcase for your talent, which is exactly the kind of website that Giles Alderson needed.
Showcase sites are great for actors, musicians, magicians, artists, animators and anyone else who uses a portfolio or showreel to help them find work. Instead of going to all the trouble and incurring the cost of pressing and labelling CDs, buying postage and packaging and mailing them out you can simply send out a business card with the website address.
A black and white theme was decided upon for Giles’ site to capture the feel of the classic B&W headshots traditionally sent out to casting agencies. A touch of Flash was used to deliver his showreel in the form of a video player.
